Canon EOS 500 D
Camera Review - Canon EOS 500D
The pixel packed EOS 500D is an impressive 15.1-megapixel DSLR that also has many of the great features that we are accustomed to with Canon.
Manufactured for the semi or mid level user, the Canon EOS 500D inherits some of the features from Canons professional camera range and is also their second DSLR to have full HD video mode. Also known as the Rebel T1i the 500D has a bust rate of 3.5 frames per second.
Using the EOS 500D is simple and navigating through the menus is also pretty straight forward. On the back of the body sits a three inch live view LCD panel with a number of easy to use controls. The 3 inch monitor helps with arranging your image and general composition and is the same screen on the 5D Mark 11.
As is expected with Canon cameras image quality is always excellent. Noise is only visible at the larger ISO settings and non existing at the lower levels. ISO settings are between 100 and 3200 and can be extended up to 12800. Auto ISO settings are between 100 and 1600.

There is also a built in cleaning system that reduces and repels any unwanted dust from the sensor. Like all cameras with a larger than average pixel count they should be used with good quality lenses to get the best quality from the camera. The 500D is compatible with all EF and EF-S Canon lenses.
